ESSENTIALE

This medicine contains the active ingredient essential phospholipids (EPLs) which are the complex substances of natural origin and unsaturated fatty acids. Essential phospholipids have a positive effect on our metabolism (by normalizing the amount of lipids and proteins) and liver cells and function because they contain powerful antioxidants. This medicine is prescribed for the treatment of fatty degeneration of the liver, hepatitis and toxic hepatitis, medicinal and alcoholic hepatitis, poisonings, liver cell necrosis, cirrhosis of the liver, disturbances in liver function connected with different illnesses.

Is Essentiale Forte N suitable for me?

Essentiale Forte N is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it

• if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to essential phospholipids or any of the other ingredients of this medicine

In particular, you must tell the doctor if you:

• are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Essentiale Forte N interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.

How should I take Essentiale Forte N?

This medicine is available in form of a capsule.

You should take Essentiale Forte N exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.

• The usual starting dose is 600 mg taken three times a day.
• The usual maintenance dose is 300 mg taken three times a day.
• It is recommended that you take capsules with meal.

Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed. Also, this medicine works best if there is a constant amount in the blood. To help keep this amount constant, do not miss any doses and take the medicine at the same time each day. Do not take two doses together if you miss a dose.

What are Essentiale Forte N side effects?

Like all medicines Essentiale Forte N can cause side effects, including:

• mild breath odor
• upset stomach

Other side effects: stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea and allergic reaction.
