Prospan is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it

Prospan interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.

This medicine is available in form of suppository, effervescent tablet and syrup.
You should take Prospan exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. The dose will be prescribed according to your condition and needs. The usual dose is as follows:
Infants and children up to 5 years are given 1 suppository twice daily (equivalent to 160 mg of dried ivy leaves per day) and children older than 5 years and adults 1 suppository three times daily (equivalent to 240 mg of dried ivy leaves daily).
Infants and children up to 5 years should be given suppositories in the morning and evening and children over 5 years and adults in the morning, at midday and in the evening.
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet in the morning (65 mg of Prospan) and ½ tablet in the evening (32.5 mg of Prospan).
Children from 6 to 12 years: and ½ tablet in the morning (32.5 mg of Prospan) and ½ tablet in the evening (32.5 mg of Prospan).
Adults and children over 12 years: 5 ml taken in the morning, at noon and in the evening. Children from 6 to 12 years: 5 ml taken in the morning and in the evening. Children below 6 years: 2, 5 ml taken in the morning and in the evening.
Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed. Do not take two doses together if you miss a dose.
